IT INTELLECT AND BROAD-BASED BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
IT INTELLECT is a (PTY)
Ltd operating in the ICT Sector and has been in operation since 1999.
IT INTELLECT embraces, and is committed to the transformation process as defined
in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act No 53 of 2003 (B-BBEE) and the
Codes of Good Practice (The Codes) issued in terms of this Act, as is evidenced
by their undertaking an evaluation of their current status.
The B-BBEE Act has been gazetted, while the Codes, which act as the roadmap for
successful B-BBEE, are still in development. With this in mind, IT INTELLECT will
align their BEE strategy as and when the final codes are released. Until then IT
INTELLECT will align itself according to the draft information available.
The owners are aware of the areas of the scorecard where
they have not scored maximum points and will be working to improve these areas as
appropriate.

To do this, IT INTELLECT have engaged the services of INTEGRA STRATEGIES to guide
them. They have focused their
attention on the following components of the scorecard
and have undertaken the initiatives as described:
Employment Equity - an Affirmative Action Policy will now be implemented
regarding all future recruitment and a Training Needs Analysis is being undertaken
so as to establish where previously disadvantaged staff require suitable training
so as to enable them to move into positions of management
Skills Development - a significant amount of training of staff
has been undertaken and, as highlighted from the Training Needs Analysis, suitable
training will be undertaken, on an ongoing basis, which will enable the attainment
of the employment equity targets
Preferential Procurement - an in-depth analysis is currently being
undertaken in terms of suppliers. All suppliers have been sent a letter in which
their BEE status is requested.
However, we are still in the process of collating
the information so as to determine the exact spend with BEE suppliers. It is the
undertaking of IT INTELLECT thereafter, to revisit their suppliers and,
